CLICK PLAY TO SEE THE VIDEO McCarty's Copper Inn was built in the 1860's , by the Union Mining Company. At that time it was called the Union Mine Store. In the 1940's it was changed into a restaurant, bar and gas station. The name changed at that time to Copper Inn. In 1961 it was turned back into a store, and was called Cantrell's Copper Inn. In 1986 the name changed again to McCarty's Copper Inn. In 2001 Bill & Nancy Turner bought the store but kept the name the same. Part of the building which is now the video room was the original U.S. Post Office. It was moved a few hundred feet from it's original location and connected to this building sometime in the 1940's. It was in operation until 1982 when the new Post Office was built .
